The Week Ahead for South Florida 5/14/14

summer savings pass for Lion Country, Museum of Discovery & Science, and Seaquarium

Well, we are in the throes of the last few weeks of school and things are pretty hectic!

On the upside, my daughter finally learned how to ride her bike!  She has been using the neighbors balance bike and I think it really helped.  It is just a bike without pedals and it is low to the ground so the kids can just push with their feet. When we went this weekend and put her on her pedal bike, she literally took off from a dead stop. I was caught off guard and started to run after her, but realized it was unnecessary.

I am going to do a whole review of the balance bike soon, but if you are struggling with getting the training wheels off you may want to look into it.  I posted a link to one of the cheaper examples on Amazon.com here.  I don’t know anything about this particular model, but this type of bike seems to run from the 50’s to the 100’s.  Please let us know your experience with balance bikes if you have one in the comments section.
