Diary of a Rogue House CatDiary of a Rogue House Cat

Have you ever had a pet that just seemed to cause havoc at every turn? Has your cat ever knocked over glasses, hidden your keys or generally created chaos for no apparent reason? Have you ever wondered what on earth your pet could be thinking? Baby Girl the Rogue House Cat explains all her crazy and funny actions in her new diary. Her journey to become a good house cat will help explain why cats do some of the things they do. I hope you enjoy her antics as much as I do.

The Week Ahead: Things to Do in Florida

I am so proud of my girl, she is donating her hair in the morning!  Okay, sorry for the proud Momma moment, it happens to the best of us!

If you looking for fun things to do in Florida this summer check out the Florida section under the Events and Reviews Tab above.

There are more and more summer fun deals popping up all around.  I updated a couple of my favorites in our Summer Picks section.  Things like the Regal Cinemas $1 Movie Express and KidsBowlFree.com are great options for rainy  or hundred degree days when being outside is just not an option.  Better yet, these are Nationwide programs so even if you don’t live in South Florida you can participate!

The Summer Saving Pass for 2015 has been published, and this is my favorite one.

This pass gets you admission all summer long to Lion Country, Miami Seaquarium, Miami Metro Zoo and The Museum of Science and Discovery for $56 for Adults and $46 for kids.   This is an incredible deal if you plan to go to make a trip to any 2 of these facilities.  In addition the Museum of Discovery and Science is another thing to do when the summer rains or heat prevent anything else.  Click Here for a post about one of our trips to Lion Country Safari using the Summer Saving Pass.

The Week Ahead for South Florida: Homework, Playgrounds & Spring Break

Playground at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton

Playground at Patch Reef Park in Boca RatonWe are in full Spring Break mode around here.  That means playgrounds, park, pool, beach and homework!  Yes, I said homework over Spring Break!  It’s okay, we found a way around it.  One of my daughters dear friends came over and they did it together.  I couldn’t believe it worked!  They happily did their work and didn’t bulk at it (well too much anyway).

Other than that we have been

sleeping in, staying up late and hitting the pool and beach!  I know the afternoons have been almost summer hot , but the morning have been cool and are the best time to hit some of our favorite parks.  Check out the category Best Playgrounds or Water Play under the Review Tab, to see some of our favorite places to play both in the water and out in South Florida & the London area.

Kids Kingdom PlaygroundMany of you know we are active in our Community Garden.  The Gardeners donate a portion of their crops to Boca Helping Hands.  I am not that good of a gardener an most of my crop gets eaten in the car on the way home, so my daughter and I do a grocery run at the end of the growing season to donate, but hey we try!  For us this is an important  activity to teach my child not only where our food comes from, but how to give back to our community.

Please come out and support us at Kapow on march 25th.  There will be some door prizes (including a chance to win a logo placement on this site).   Tickets are now on sale for the Kapow! Boca Raton Community Garden fundraiser on March 25th 5:30-7:30pm click the Event Brite link to order online.

Hope you are keeping cool, because we sure are! This is just one of the places we are visiting here in Jolly Old England.  We are having a lovely time, and I can’t wait to write more about the amazing parks here.  The thing I love most about London is the parks!  There are flowers and roses everywhere, and there is always a place to get a cup of tea while the kids play.

My daughter has asked specifically for this park, it really is a lovely way to escape to Neverland, even if it is just for a few hours!  Click here for our review of the Princess Diana Memorial Playground in London.

Since the sun is sometimes hard to find here in London, my pick of the week is the splash pad on the beach in Pompano Beach!
